The NIJ Film and TV Academy (NIJFTA)  is operated under a partnership between the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and Ovueta, the academy was created to enable all those desirous of pursuing a career in the fast-growing film and expanding television industry in Nigeria and  Africa to get the training required to excel. 

The academy does this through An intense, hands-on and top-notch curriculum. On the job learning training opportunities through internship and industrial attachment in reputable film and television production companies in Nigeria and possibly in Ghana.

The Nigerian Film and Television Industry is the biggest in Africa and currently employ hundreds of thousands and continues to provide job opportunities to more. It is therefore important that skills are properly developed to enable maintenance of industry standards and even the improvement of these standards – this is what NIJ Film and TV Academy aim to do.

What makes us standout?

NIJFTA is set up by the Nigerian Institute of Journalism which has been in existence since 1963 and has notable alumni which include Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, John Momoh, Ngozi Ezeonu, Korede Bello and Yemi Kuti. 

The Academy’s Faculty is made up of industry experts who have over 70 years cumulative experience and have won several awards across the globe.

All students at NIJFTA will be given an internship opportunity to help learn on the job and possibly build relationship in the industry for future job opportunities.
